Tracy Kennedy: Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist online counselling for adults in Ontario & British Columbia

Tracy holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) and is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with nearly two decades of experience. Her advanced training includes EMDR, Somatic Therapy, EFT (Tapping), Safe and Sound Protocol, Rest and Restore Protocol, Polyvagal Theory.
What Makes Tracy's Approach Different
Tracy integrates several evidence-based modalities, chosen based on what each client actually needs:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing): EMDR helps the brain reprocess memories that are still creating noise, even when you've already done a lot of work on them cognitively. It's particularly effective for those thoughts and feelings that haven't budged despite insight and effort.
Somatic Therapy: Trauma and stress live in the body, not just the mind. Tracy's somatic work helps clients develop a more regulated, grounded nervous system.
CBT and Talk Therapy: For clients who tend to think deeply and analyze well, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps redirect that intelligence toward patterns that are actually serving them.
Walk and Talk Therapy: For clients who do their best thinking when they're moving, Tracy offers Walk and Talk sessions over the phone. You walk somewhere that feels good to you, a park, a trail, your neighbourhood, while doing real therapy work. Movement, nature, and conversation working together. It's a good fit for stress management, personal growth, and building self-awareness in a way that doesn't feel like sitting and analyzing.
Fully Seen, the 10-Week Somatic Group: Fully Seen is Tracy's structured 10-week online somatic group program for women in Ontario and BC. It combines nervous system education, body-based practice, and genuine co-regulation in a small group setting.
What Therapy with Tracy Looks Like
Tracy's clients are doing well in most areas of their lives. Through therapy, they develop:
A clearer understanding of their thoughts, feelings and behaviours and why certain patterns have been hard to shift despite their best efforts.
More refined tools, beyond what they've already built on their own.
A felt sense of the changes they've understood intellectually for a long time.
A sense of community in Fully Seen, with other women who are equally invested in their wellbeing.
Your First Session with Tracy
Here's what to expect when you reach out:
A thorough intake conversation covering your history, patterns, and what you're hoping to shift
A discussion of which modalities, EMDR, somatic therapy, EFT, CBT, or Walk and Talk sessions, fit best for your goals
Clear next steps so you know exactly what working together will involve
Space to ask questions and move at a pace that works for you
Why Work with a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in Ontario or BC
As an RSW, Tracy is regulated by her professional college in both Ontario and BC, which means there are formal standards governing her practice, ethics, and ongoing training.
RSWs are trained to look beyond symptoms to the full picture of a person's life. For clients who don't fit a tidy diagnostic box and want a therapist who thinks in layers, this is worth knowing.
